My recent GEM lesson, Essentials of Marketing, was the main reason which sparked me to post this. The lecuterer was trying so hard to explain the definition for “NEEDS ARE UNIVERSAL”. He came up with this theory with hunger as the example “Everyone feels hungry the same way, because we are the same species” You may agree that, yeaa what a bad example. Look at the world around you. are you sure people everywhere are feeling the same type of hunger that you are?
That reminded me a discussion few weeks back, where my mates and i were discussing about how unfair life can be, be it humans or animals. so one of them told us about this photographer, Kevin Carter and his work which caused his death. At this instance, I felt rather down. I was at the same time very curious about the photo that has caused this tragic. so i went online and took a look at it immediately. I had to hold back my tears while reading it. Though some may already know what is this about cos it happened many years back, I would like to share this with people who are reading my post, i hope you will feel the same way too.

The photo is the Pulitzer Prize winning photo taken in 1994 during the Sudan famine. The picture depicts a famine stricken child crawling towards the United Nations food camp, located a kilometre away.
This was found in Kevin Carter’s diary:
Dear God, I promise I will never waste my food no matter how bad it can
taste and how full I may be. I pray that He will protect this little boy, guide
and deliver him away from his misery. I pray that we will be more sensitive
towards the world around us and not be blinded by our own selfish nature
and interests.
