My recent GEM lesson, Essentials of Marketing, was the main reason which sparked me to post this. The lecuterer was trying so hard to explain the definition for “NEEDS ARE UNIVERSAL”. He came up with this theory with hunger as the example “Everyone feels hungry the same way, because we are the same species” You may agree that, yeaa what a bad example. Look at the world around you. are you sure people everywhere are feeling the same type of hunger that you are?
That reminded me a discussion few weeks back, where my mates and i were discussing about how unfair life can be, be it humans or animals. so one of them told us about this photographer, Kevin Carter and his work which caused his death. At this instance, I felt rather down. I was at the same time very curious about the photo that has caused this tragic. so i went online and took a look at it immediately. I had to hold back my tears while reading it. Though some may already know what is this about cos it happened many years back, I would like to share this with people who are reading my post, i hope you will feel the same way too.

The photo is the Pulitzer Prize winning photo taken in 1994 during the Sudan famine. The picture depicts a famine stricken child crawling towards the United Nations food camp, located a kilometre away.
This was found in Kevin Carter’s diary:
Dear God, I promise I will never waste my food no matter how bad it can
taste and how full I may be. I pray that He will protect this little boy, guide
and deliver him away from his misery. I pray that we will be more sensitive
towards the world around us and not be blinded by our own selfish nature
and interests.

i’m so honoured somehow cos i managed to keep myself awake throughout the whole day, except for clinical chemistry which i really feel that the teacher’s voice makes a good lullaby. I am quite disappointed with the standards of tertiary lecturers. Does that mean that you can be a lecturer just by knowing the subject well? where have all the standards of english gone to? I thought Singapore wants us to SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH, so tertiary students do not have to speak good english? Probably i’m just too demanding.
I’m glad anyway. (: Week 1 ends TOMORROW! isnt that good news?
till then.

myPATCHWORK 12:12 am
looking back
thinking through
wondering how many whom i’ve acquainted truly remembers my existence
i’ve used acquainted this very time cos i doubt friends
i’m not even sure if i have 10 good friends
probably asking for friends who are willing to treat me as one is too much?
i kept my conscience clear treating everyone around truly and sincerely
but there are things that they did just breaks my heart
i dont ask to be treated as your bestfriend
i just ask to be treated like a true friend
i really wonder how many could remember my birthday without the reminders from friendsters or any other sources
i am definitely not here asking for any presents
because i strongly believe that the most expensive presents are given from the heart, the cost of a present does not make it any expensive at all
yea, probably i am just to naive. anyway school reopened, good luck to me ya?
till then.
